Once Upon a Time, We Fell in Love with Goats.
2015
It all started in 2015 when Bill and Erika were living in Fairfield. They agreed to add a small barn to the back of the garage so they could have chickens. After Bill constructed the North side wall of the barn, he stood up the bare stud wall and pushed it up against the old garage wall causing every stud to be slightly crooked....thus the name of our farm...Crooked Wall Farm.
After the barn was built, Erika decided that a goat would be a nice companion for their dog. The first goat purchased was an intact buck named Skidder. Unfortunately Skidder was scared of the dog! Therefore Skidder was quickly followed by a doeling named Lilly Pea Pod. A few weeks later a grandma goat, her daughter, and 2 grand daughters joined the farm and the first goat herd for Crooked Wall Farm was formed!
2016
In the fall of2016 Crooked Wall Farm acquired their first ADGA Registered Goats from Crazy 4 Goats in Madison, Maine. September of 2016 ADGA assigned Crooked Wall Farm the herd tattoo CWF8.
2017
The spring of 2017 brought the first ADGA registered kids born at the farm as well as the first goat show, HOMDGA 2017 Wicked Early Show, at the Windsor Fairgrounds. Erika showed one buck, Tiny Angels Kingfisher.
2019
Two years later in May of 2019 Ting Angels Kingfisher won 2 Championship legs in the Wicked Early Spring Show at the Windsor Fairgrounds. The farm's first championships!
June of 2019 brought the move from Fairfield to the farm's new location on River Road in Detroit, Maine.
September of 2019 Crooked Wall Farm Catalyst won Best Junior Doe in Show at the Farmington Fair. She was the first champion goat with the Crook Wall Farm herd name!
The first ADGA Linear appraisal for Crooked Wall Farm also took place in fall of 2019. The highest ranked goat int herd was Tiny Angels KingFisher at VEE89.
2021
May of 2021 at the Wicked Early Spring Show Crooked Wall Farm Bella Camino wins first place in her age group. Crooked Wall Farm began participating in a milk test via DHIA: Dairy One.
September of 2021 brought another ADGA linear appraisal. The highest ranked goat with the Crooked Wall Farm Herd name was Bella Camino +VVV87.
October 2021 the acquisition of Ebarb Farm Nigerian Dwarf Goat herd took place. This purchase almost doubled the size of the goat herd at Crooked Wall Farm. The Farm is expecting many exciting achievements with Ebarb's herd. We are hoping they will help us get closer to our vision of the "ideal" Crooked Wall Farm Nigerian Dwarf Goat.
