Stud Service Inquiry

Terms of Service

In requesting stud service, below, you certify that:

1. ​Your doe(s) come from a healthy herd and is free of visible disease (no abscesses whatsoever, no wounds, normal temperature, no diarrhea, FAMACHA score 3 or higher); and
2. You can provide proof of testing and negative results for CAE, CL, and Johne’s Disease for your doe(s) within the past year.

Crooked Wall Farm will discuss the terms of buck/doe breeding arrangements with you.  This can include “driveway breeding” or a board and breed arrangement. Boarding a doe will increase the stud fee charged.

1. Boarding is $5 per day per doe, unless otherwise arranged, for feed, water, and board. You must provide any special diets required by your doe(s).
2. The appropriate stud fee is paid prior to the breeding. Stud fee amounts will vary based upon the age, performance, lineage and winning record or championship status of the buck or his offspring, length of stay in breeding pen, etc.
3. Should the doe become sick while in the care of Crooked Wall Farm, you, as the owner of the doe, will be responsible for all veterinarian expenses incurred.​​​
   1. Crooked Wall Farm will consult with you prior to services rendered.
   2. If you cannot be reached during an emergency, Crooked Wall Farm will permit any and all veterinarian services to stabilize the health of your doe at your expense.
   3. Should a doe expire while in the custody of Crooked Wall Farm, Crooked Wall Farm will not be held responsible unless malicious neglect or negligence is found to be evident as the sole cause of the doe’s death.
4. Any additional fees incurred during the breeding stay of a doe will be paid in full prior to the doe being released to you.
5. Any doe left beyond the terms of the “stay and breed” agreement without reconsideration of the terms of the agreement for more than 60 days, may be considered abandoned and surrendered and will become the property of Crooked Wall Farm.

In order to promote improvement within the breeding of dairy goats, we reserve the right, in some cases, to provide “doe only service memos”. This will be a decision made with you on assessment of the doe (traits appraised as “brood stock”) PRIOR to the signing of our stud service agreement.

As part of the Stud Service Policy, Crooked Wall Farm agrees that:

1. All our service bucks are registered with American Dairy Goat Association.
2. All of our Senior bucks have undergone and passed a CAE test, and that all the dams of our Junior Bucks have undergone and passed a CAE test.
3. All bucks used for stud service are healthy and free from genetic faults.
4. On payment, you will receive a service memo for the breeding.
5. Crooked Wall Farm does not guarantee that your doe settles under stud service. 
   
6. Does will be milked for health purposes only with prior agreement. ​​
